CHAPTER 8

Everything was normal.

Too normal.

Aaradhya was sitting on the couch scrolling through her phone peacefully when—

Buzz.

She glanced down.

Smiled.

Soft. Small. Harmless.

Unfortunately—

Arhaan saw it.

And Arhaan notices everything. Except when food is disappearing from his plate.

He froze mid-bite.

Slowly lowered his sandwich.

“Avik.”

Avik looked up lazily.
“Kya.”

Arhaan whispered dramatically,
“Smile.”

Avik blinked.
“Kis baat pe?”

Arhaan pointed subtly.

“Phone wali.”

Silence.

Aayansh slowly removed his glasses like he just detected a rare disease.

Ahaan leaned back.

Aditya didn’t look up from his laptop but said calmly,
“Observe.”

Aaradhya looked up.

Why were six grown men staring at her like she committed tax fraud?

“Kya hai?”

Arhaan stood up.

“Phone dikha.”

She blinked.

“Why?”

“Bas dikha.”

“NAHI.”

She got up to leave.

Arhaan tried to block her path.

Slipped on the rug.

Fell.

Loudly.

“Main theek hoon,” he said from the floor.

Avik walked toward her.

“Kisne message kiya?”

“Kisi ne nahi!”

Aayansh nodded.
“Haan haan. Smile apne aap aa gayi hogi.”

Ahaan added calmly,
“Data contradicts that statement.”

She clutched her phone dramatically.

“You people need hobbies.”

Arhaan stood up again.

“Humein hobby mil gayi.”

Avik lunged.

She dodged.

Arhaan tried from the side.

Missed.

Aayansh almost caught her wrist—

But at that exact moment—

From downstairs:

“KHANA LAG GAYA!”

Mom’s voice.

Perfect timing.

All six brothers froze like school kids caught cheating.

Aditya closed his laptop immediately.

“Pause.”

Avik pointed at her.

“This isn’t over.”

Arhaan narrowed his eyes.

“Hum dekh rahe hain.”

She stared at them.

“You didn’t even see the message!”

Ahaan replied calmly,

“Exactly.”

At dinner, Dadu happily said,

“Kal Yashvardhan ji ka call aaya tha. Sunday ko sab Suryavanshi house aa rahe hain.”

Aaradhya’s heart skipped.

Arhaan gasped dramatically.

“Sab?”

Dadi smiled.
“Haan beta.”

Avik muttered under his breath,
“Accha hai.”

Aayansh raised an eyebrow.

“Convenient.”

Dad looked confused.

“Kya convenient?”

Aditya calmly sipped water.

“Nothing.”

Arhaan leaned toward Aaradhya and whispered,

“Sunday ko smile check hoga.”

She kicked him under the table.

He yelped loudly.

“Maa! Yeh phir maar rahi hai!”

Mom glared at her.

“Kyun maar rahi ho?”

“Woh pagal hai!”

Avik said casually,

“Dekha? Defensive.”

Ahaan nodded seriously.

“Very.”

Dadu looked amused.

“Kis baat pe lad rahe ho tum log?”

All six brothers in sync:

“Kuch nahi.”

Aaradhya wanted to scream.

They didn’t know who messaged her.

They didn’t see the notification.

They had zero proof.

And still they were behaving like intelligence officers.

Later that night—

Arhaan entered her room holding a notebook.

“Interrogation notes.”

“GET OUT.”

Avik stood at the door like security.

“Last chance.”

“For what?!”

Aayansh sat on her chair calmly.

“Tell us. Voluntarily.”

She threw a pillow at him.

He caught it.

Arhaan jumped onto the bed.

“Smile 5:47 PM. Duration: 3 seconds.”

She burst out laughing.

“YOU TIMED IT?!”

“Of course.”

Avik grabbed another pillow.

Within seconds—

Full pillow war.

Arhaan screaming,
“Sach batao warna—”

She smacked him again.

“WARNA KYA?!”

He paused.

“…warna bas bata do.”

Even Avik started laughing.

Aayansh got hit accidentally and fell sideways.

“Yeh family stable nahi hai,” he announced.

Ahaan tried to stay serious but got hit on the face.

His glasses tilted.

He sighed.

“Immature.”

Aditya opened the door, saw feathers everywhere, and just said,

“If this is about a boy, at least keep the volume low.”

All six froze.

She screamed.

“IT IS NOT ABOUT A BOY!”

Dead silence.

All brothers slowly turned toward her.

Arhaan whispered dramatically,

“Confirmation mil gaya.”

She grabbed two pillows and attacked all of them.

Total chaos.

Feathers flying.

Arhaan slipping again.

Avik laughing for the first time in hours.

Aayansh pretending to faint.

Ahaan trying to maintain dignity and failing.

Mom shouted from outside:

“SO JAO!”

Everyone froze mid-attack.

Arhaan whispered,

“War postponed.”

Avik pointed randomly into the air.

“Jo bhi hai na…”

Ahaan finished calmly,

“Background check hoga.”

She collapsed on the bed laughing.

“You guys don’t even know WHO.”

Aditya replied casually from the door,

“Doesn’t matter.”

And they left.

Still suspicious.

Still dramatic.

Still clueless.

Downstairs, her phone buzzed again.

She looked at it.

Smiled.

And locked it.

Because honestly?

Poor Yuvaan had no idea he had six unofficial bodyguards already threatening him without even knowing his name.
