CHAPTER 2

“YEH KYA HAI?!”

Kaki’s horrified scream echoed across the hall. Every head snapped toward her, and there, bouncing across the polished floor with tiny, wobbly paws, was the puppy.

Aaradhya froze for a moment, clutching the puppy carefully. “Kaki… please don’t scream!”

Her grandfather chuckled. “What is this, dear?”

Her mother smiled warmly. “Where did he come from?”

Aaradhya explained quickly, “I found him on the road  and we took him to the vet. He’s fine, I promise!”

The elders, except Kaki, cooed over the puppy. “He’s adorable!” “Look at those paws!” “So tiny!”

Kaki crossed her arms, glaring. “Absolutely not. No dogs in this house. Not happening.”

Aaradhya tilted her head, widened her eyes, and pouted like the most skilled puppy-dog in the world. “Please, Kaki pleaseeeee?”

The other elders sighed, smiling. “Let her keep him, he’s harmless!”

Kaki shook her head. “No way.”

Aaradhya leaned closer, voice soft, a tiny tremble in it. “Kaki… I’ll be so sad… I can’t sleep… I can’t… I won’t eat…”

Kaki groaned dramatically but finally relented. “Fine but keep him away from me.”

Aaradhya grinned, hugging the puppy tightly. “Deal!”

After the chaos, it was time for the puppy's first bath. Aaradhya filled the tub with warm water, gently washing the little puppy. Of course, the puppy thought this was the perfect opportunity to splash water everywhere, shake his fur, and escape under the towel multiple times.

Avik, Advik and Arhan hovered nearby, laughing hysterically.

“Okay, now we name him!” Arhan said.

The brothers threw out ridiculous ideas:
“Sir Barkington, Lord of Pawtown!”
“Chewbacca Jr., obviously.”
"Gian!"
"Rasgulla 😋"
"Shinchan"
"Pappu"

Aaradhya rolled her eyes at their suggestions.

After some thought, she smiled down at him. “His name is Chiku.”

The brothers groaned loudly. “Ugh. Chewbacca was better.”
“Sir Barkington forever!”
Aaradhya just crossed her arms and smirked. “Deal with it.”

Dinner was relatively calm. Aaradhya fed Chiku first, watching as he devoured his food happily. Then she went downstairs with her brothers. Everything seemed peaceful until Chiku decided to sneak out of his bed.

Before anyone could notice, he wriggled into the living room.

“Maine kaha tha na, isse dur rakho?!” Kaki screamed again, jumping on the sofa flapping her hands as if the puppy was a wild tiger.

The rest of the family erupted into laughter clutching their stomatchs. The siblings tried to catch Chiku while slipping over rugs.

Aaradhya ran after him, tripping into the couch, arms flailing, while Chiku happily ran in circles, oblivious to the chaos he was causing.

Finally, after several minutes of hilarious chasing, all the siblings cornered him from each side and returned him to his makeshift bed, where they set up blankets, food, and toys.

Aaradhya flopped onto her bed later that night, Chiku curled into her lap despite having his own bed. She whispered softly, “Goodnight, Chiku… tomorrow’s going to be fun.”

The next morning, the house was buzzing again—but this time, for school.

Aaradhya stretched lazily. Today was her first day of 11th, and Advik and Arhan's first day of 12th.

“Arre yaar, notebook kahan gaya?” Advik groaned, flipping the desk upside down. “I need to write this fast!”

Arhan meanwhile, froze, staring at Chiku happily chewing something on the floor. “Wait… what is Chiku eating?” he asked suspiciously.

Advik squinted, his heart stopping. “No… no… no…”

Chiku wagged his tail innocently, holding a torn notebook page in his tiny mouth.

“MERAA NOTEBOOK?!” Advik wailed, flopping dramatically onto the floor. “Chiku! Yeh kya kar diya tumne?!”

Arhan snorted, barely holding back laughter. “Arre, koi bhi nahi bachayega ab tumhe!"

Advik groaned, hugging the shredded remains. “I can’t… I can’t live like this…”

Chiku just barked happily, tail wagging, completely unaware of the homework apocalypse he had caused.

Aaradhya giggled from the breakfast table, teasing, “Typical Rajvansh chaos.”

The brothers scrambled, finishing their homework in a flurry, grumbling about teachers assigning work over vacation. Once done or mostly done they grabbed their bags and bolted out the door, muttering curses under their breath.

At school, the brothers met up with their friends.

“Did anyone do the homework?” Arhan asked.

“Homework? What homework?” Ekaksh said, shrugging.

The brothers groaned, exaggeratedly cursing their teacher again. Others laughed, clearly having the same chaotic morning.

Meanwhile, Aaradhya walked past, catching sight of someone across the hall. Her eyes met his—Yuvaan Suryavanshi. He looked at her calmly, an unreadable smirk on his face, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause.

Her heart skipped. She quickly looked away, cheeks slightly warm.

A small spark of something dangerous and thrilling had been lit and neither of them spoke, but the tension was there, lingering in the air.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hi Lovlies 🤍

I hope you enjoyed Chapter 2! Honestly, I feel like the chaos and funny moments with Chiku could have been wayyy funnier, but I really tried my best to make it entertaining 😅 From Kaki’s horrified screams to the naming debate and the brothers’ mischief, I had a lot of fun writing it, and I hope it made you smile at least a little.

I’m a first-time writer, so I’d love your constructive criticism. Did it make you laugh? Were the characters and chaos believable? Your feedback really helps me improve and write better for the next chapters.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you’re enjoying this little Rajvansh adventure as much as I do 💛

With love,
